What is the benefit of being listed on SWG’s Teachers Directory?
SWG places a high priority on promoting spinning an weaving education. Our goal with the teachers directory is to connect individuals who want to learn with those who teach. Advertising is expensive and often beyond the reach of many qualified teachers. Collectively we can get more bang for our buck than we can as individuals. SWG uses this list in its outreach efforts including trade shows, social media, events such as Spinzilla, advertising, and the like. It is also a great resource for shops and conferences to connect with qualified teachers.
Does it cost to be listed?
Through December 2016 listings are absolutely FREE! After that time you must be a member of TNNA to be listed.
How do I get listed on SWG’s Teachers Directory?
Visit our Spinning & Weaving Teachers list and click “Submit A List”, then fill out the simple online form including two references. Listings are subject to review and approval before publication. Once you are approved you will receive a confirmation with your user name and password. If at any time you need to change your listing you can use this information to log in.
If I am a retail or wholesale business can I still list my educational resources on the website?
Absolutely! Each listing must be associated with an individual, but that individual may indicate that they are associated with a specific shop or company. When will I be listed as a teacher on the Educational Resource list?
It may take 2-3 weeks for your listing to appear.
How can I update my current listing?
At the time your listing was approved you were sent a username and password. You may request a new password if you don’t remember what it is. After you log in you may edit your current entry and it will populate as soon as you save.
What is the Spinning and Weaving Group
The Spinning and Weaving Group is a product segment group of The National NeedleArts Association (TNNA), a trade association for the needlearts of knitting, crochet, stitching, spinning, and weaving. TNNA hosts a trade show twice a year where spinning, weaving supplies go to network with other business owners, to see what new products are available, and meet with their suppliers.
SWG itself is made up of spinning and weaving business owners and service providers. As a product segment group, SWG advocates for the interest of spinning and weaving businesses within the yarn industry as well as supporting overall industry initiatives. One of its main initiatives is Spinzilla a spinning event that occurs during the first full week of October. To read more about its mission and purpose, click here.
What membership level is appropriate for me?
Affiliate members are teachers, designers, educational institutions, guilds, service providers, and supporters—any individual or nonprofit organization that promotes and supports the business of spinning and weaving.
Retail and wholesale members operate for-profit brick and mortar or online spinning and weaving businesses.
How do I join SWG?
If you are a current TNNA member, you will need to contact the TNNA office at 740-455-6773 or 800-889-8662. How much does it cost to join SWG?
As with TNNA membership dues depends on your business type. SWG wholesale dues are $75, retail dues are $25, and affiliate dues are $15.

We batch all our new members and update the website every 2-3 weeks.
